Biography
Dr. Zhang earned his B.S. degree from Nanjing Agricultural University, China, M.S. degree from Iowa State University, and Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. He served as the soil chemist for the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry in Farmington, New Mexico for 6 years before joining OSU in 1996. Dr. Zhang’s extension and research programs focus on agricultural testing, plant nutrient management and environmental quality protection. He has been actively promoting soil testing as a best management practice for fertilizer and animal waste utilization, and developing decision support tools for farmers and crop consultants.
